The Greatham Foundation has a long and proud history of working with vulnerable people living in the North East of England. Established in 1273 by Bishop Robert de Stichell to help poor and elderly people, throughout the centuries we have taken this founding ethos and developed into a modern organisation meeting a range of 21st century needs.
At The Greatham Foundation, we are committed to supporting people affected by dementia. That’s why we’re proud to have funded a powerful new booklet by Michael Booth, a Hartlepool man who has transformed his own young-onset dementia diagnosis into something that can help others find clarity and hope.
Stichell House Residential Care Home in Greatham, Hartlepool has been deeply moved and inspired by the incredible efforts of Lucy May Drummond, an 8-year-old girl who walked around her block 1,000 times over the course of 12 days earlier this year, before and after school, to raise funds in memory of her beloved Great Nanna, May.
The Greatham Foundation has a long and proud philanthropic history of working with vulnerable individuals across the North East of England. As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting community wellbeing, the charity runs an annual Small Grants Programme that provides funding to local, community-based organisations.
